Missionary-turned-entertainer Bob Cates, is an award-winning clean comedian and variety artist. His memorable interactive comedy show includes advanced juggling, wild unicycling and balancing skills, slinky juggling, audience participation and an insane plate spinning routine (using real breakable plates) that you will remember for a long long time. Bob Cates, a Canadian Juggling Champion, physical & clean comedian comes from humble roots as a pig farmer’s son. He was honored to win Best Variety Act at the Canadian Comedy Awards. He was also twice nominated for Best One Man Show by the Canadian Comedy Awards. In 2016, Bob was awarded National Entertainer of the Year at the Canadian Event Industry Awards after 4 previous nominations. He was nominated again in 2024! The Canadian Event Industry Awards are widely acknowledged as the pinnacle mark of professional achievement, and the highest honor a Canadian event professional can earn. Bob, a resident of Cambridge Ontario was also twice awarded “Best Entertainer of the Year” at the Molson Canadian F.E.O. Awards. He won the Most Difficult Trick Award at the RIT New York Juggling Festival and has been a special guest performer at the Israeli Juggling Convention and several National Youth Conventions in the Canada and the United States.
Bob performs in the USA, not just Canada!
His performances are split between corporate and gala dinner special events, and churches or ministry events. He has headlined on almost every cruise line over the last 20 years totalling 250 weeks at sea. When performing for churches or ministries he sometimes presents the show only, giving audiences what they long for but often never get: a clean amazing and funny show. Other times, if it’s an outreach event, he clearly shares the gospel after the show. His 16 year old son Hudson who was homeschooled for many years, is now performing both with Bob and doing his own shows with his friend from Church.
